Have you ever asked God the question, “Are you sure about this?”
Have you ever wondered what on earth God is thinking when He leads you to step out of the boat into the unknown?
Have you ever thought why in the world would He call you to do something bigger than you could ever think or imagine?
Have you ever said how can I do this?
Have you ever looked through your finite eyes instead of your faith eyes and said, “God, there is no way this is happening”?
I know I have found myself at times in my life asking those questions…wondering those things. Then I find myself giggling at the thought that I know better than God does about my life…I mean, come on, He is the Creator of this entire Universe…surely He knows what He is doing in my life.
You know what? He knows EXACTLY what He is doing in your life and what He has called you to do.
Let’s go back and look at what scripture says at just how delicately He made you. This is from Psalms 139:13-16 and I want you to take a minute and read this scripture.
Where you see the words, “I”, “My”, or “Me”, put your name there:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Do you see how much time He took on you? How much time did He take on your days and your calling and your purpose?
You see He didn’t just throw you together…His thoughts are precious about you and He calls His works wonderful…that means you are wonderful and the calling on your life is wonderful.
I have been studying 2 Peter 1:3-10. This scripture discusses the divine power that God has put in us to live a life of godliness and excellence. By doing this, it tells us to be diligent in our calling.
So what does that mean?
For me, it reminded me that YES, God is absolutely sure about what He has called me to do and what He has called you to do.
He wants us to grow in that calling and live it out by doing the following:
1. Make every effort to grow in your faith
2. Live a life of excellence
3. Grow in the fruits of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, self-control)
4. Go LIVE a fruitful life by walking in the calling God has placed on you.
How different would this world look if we stopped waiting on people to give us permission to be who God already created us to be…called us to be…made us to be? God already gave you permission to walk in your calling, to use your gifts and talents the day He breathed His breath of life into your body.
Friend, stop doubting the calling God has placed on your life. Keep growing in your faith by taking steps of faith in this calling.
If He has called you to it, He will equip you to do it.
